TP-Link announced yesterday that it intends to begin assembling Wi‑Fi routers on U.S. soil, a move aimed at securing the Trump administration’s permission to sell its latest router models to American buyers. The company’s press release indicated that domestic assembly could start “as early as” 2027, though the timeline may shift if the approval process drags on or the request is denied, potentially pushing the start date to 2028.
“Pending US regulatory approval, TP-Link expects domestic assembly of its groundbreaking Wi‑Fi 8 home networking product line to begin as early as next year,” the firm said. In a related development, TP-Link disclosed that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Keytronic, a U.S. company that will act as its primary manufacturing partner, handling assembly of the advanced networking portfolio in Corinth, Mississippi.
