Samsung UK posted on its blog that the company’s 2026 foldable lineup is advancing more quickly than the models released a year earlier. The firm highlighted that, compared with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, combined European sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra have risen by 45 percent. While Samsung did not disclose figures for the Z Flip 8, it previously noted that its larger foldables account for roughly 80 percent of all foldable purchases, suggesting that any growth in the flip segment was modest.
Analysts have linked the flat performance of the Z Flip line to Apple’s decision not to launch a flip‑style device. Although Samsung’s press release makes no reference to Apple or the newly announced iPhone Duo, it does point out a dramatic spike in online interest. Search queries for the Z8 series across Europe jumped 460 percent during the week of September 6 to 12, the same week the iPhone Duo was unveiled on September 9. Over the entire month of September, when the new phones hit the market, search volume for the Z Fold 8 increased by 260 percent.
