Former Savannah police officer Amber Harpe was terminated in August after an internal investigation revealed she had provided her husband, Tyler Harpe, an ICE agent, with her login credentials for the department’s Flock system. The Savannah Police Department has stated that its Flock data is not shared with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and that allowing an outside agency to access the system breaches its security policies.
Using the unauthorized credentials, Tyler Harpe performed 983 queries involving 97 license plates, the majority of which were registered to Hispanic drivers, according to local ABC affiliate WJCL. The Harpes defended their conduct, insisting that the access was not used for personal gain. The full story is available at The Verge.
